14/02/12 - Forever Alone Valentines Day in Tokyo

Hey guys!

Wow it's been over a month since I've last done a Japan blog post! I still have so many blog posts I have to do still for Japan but this is going to be the last blog post for my 2012 trips! Then I can finally move onto my Japan 2013 blog posts hahaha. Sorry it's taking me sooo long to get through them all!

On this day it was Valentines Day in Japan, but I was alone because my boyfriend wasn't with me... and in Japan Valentines Day is celebrated a lot more than it is in Australia. When you are in Japan you will see SO many stores selling Valentines Day chocolates and you just see couples everywhere.. If you are travelling alone and if you are a girl, a lot of host boys will approach you just because you look lonely lol. Easiest way to get rid of them is to just pretend you can't speak Japanese and pretend you have no idea what they are on about. So.. I guess what I'm trying to say is that.. it sucks being alone on Valentines Day in Japan haha.

Anyway, this was actually my final day in Japan so I wanted to go out alone to do some final shopping. Janelle was going to spend the day with her friends so I decided to spend my day going back to Shibuya, Harajuku and Ikebukuro to do some shopping.

Janelle getting ready in our hostel~

Got to Ikebukuro station and decided to head to Harajuku first~

Found this cool vending machine at Ikebukuro station

160yen ticket from Ikebukuro

Arrived at Harajuku~

Couples everywhere lol.

Outside of Harajuku station

Of course I go to Takeshita dori to shop, love this street!

After shopping, left Harajuku to get to Shibuya~

The weather sucked that day :( Was raining a lot in Shibuya

Annnddd of course I had to go to my favourite shopping mall, Shibuya109!

Didn't really take any phtoos in there cos I was rushing to get all my shopping done lol.

I walked around Shibuya one last time

After that I went back to Ikebukuro to Sunshine City to meet up with Janelle and her friends~ The fountain had a lot of different colours and had a "Valentines Day" special show

A store selling Valentines Day chocolates~

I wanted to have crepes for the last time~ It doesn't look great in the photo but it tasted awesome! I always get the blueberry cheesecake one

Janelle got bubbletea

For dinner we couldn't be bothered going anywhere special cos we were all so tired, so we ended up going to Saizeriya which is a Japanese Italian food chain restaurant that's cheap

That's all for this final Japan blog post for 2012! Next I'm going to blog about my adventures in HONG KONG! I went to Hong Kong straight after Japan for a week so hope you guys look forward to those posts!

9/02/12 Ikebukuro Sunshine City

Hey guys!

Hope you are all well! I've been spending the past few days cleaning my room.. I've been saying I would for about 1-2 years now but I just couldn't be bothered doing it haha.

Since it's been a long time since I've done a Japan post, I thought it'd be nice to do a quick one today! Today I'm going to blog about the day my friends and I spent at Ikebukuro Sunshine City~!

We stayed in Ikebukuro last time we went to Japan in a hostel. Since we were running out of money really badly, we thought it was best to just spend a day at Sunshine City and no-where else.

Like I said before, we were running out of money really badly, so we decided to have lunch at a soba place. A whole meal for just 300yen from 3pm-10pm!

Unfortunately we were there around 12 so we didn't get the special price.. but it was still really cheap.

After that we walked to Sunshine City~

While walking past this game center...

We saw a Rilakkuma!

He was just posing for photos!

Walking to Sunshine City you pass by many different shops!

Going down the huge escalators to get down to Sunshine City

You have to walk about 100 meters to actually get to the entrance after the escalator ride, but for lazy people (like me) you can use these travelators haha.

What I love about Sunshine City, is that if you go to ALTA (which is towards the end of the Sunshine City mall) and go on the 1st floor, there are LOTS of shops selling ridiculously cheap shoes. Some are around $10-$20!

I wanted to take Joanna there to have a look at the shoes, so most of the time I was just resting since I was so tired that day haha

I don't know what this was on about.

After we went to a shop called "Lodispotto". Seriously the weirdest shop name ever, but the clothes are really nice

The accessories are really princessy!

I decided to try on a top so my friends took photos without me knowing lol

I look so angry in that photo LOL. Ended up buying that top because it was 70% off!

After that we went to INGNI! I really like the clothes in INGNI

Wearing glasses from there lol.

We then finished off the day with Purikura!
As I mentioned before, in Japan there is something called "Cosplay Purikura" where you're able to rent out costumes for free, and wear them for purikura!

There werent many costumes left, so we just took whatever was there. I have no idea what I was cosplaying, and I stupidly didn't realize that there was actually a white shirt with my costume in the bag it came in (I thought something was weird when I had the costume on, I felt a bit exposed LOL).

It was getting late so we ended up leaving Sunshine City and went to grab some dinner~

Cute vending machine!

For dinner, we decided to go to a Japanese chain pasta restaurant called Saizeriya. It sells pasta for really cheap and they taste good too!

Even though it had 2 chillis next to it... it isn't spicy at all. Japanese people don't usually eat spicy food so even if they say it is, it still tastes mild to me.

Food was so good though!
