Hey Everyone!

Hope you all had a great Christmas! My Christmas was quiet, didn't do much but I really wanted to relax after working so much lately :(

Anyway! I set up an email account where you guys can send me questions to answer in videos, unfortunately I've been so busy that I actually haven't been able to film anything new this month.. I received hundreds of questions and I feel really bad for not answering a lot of them :( So I decided to feature some questions in my blog posts. I would really like you guys to know me better so hopefully this will help! haha.

This blog post I'm going to be answering questions I got back in March.. I know it's been ages but I hope that you guys will still find it interesting!

The first question is from Christine:

Hi Kim♥~!
Here's a question for your new q&a video series - do you have anyideas for dates? What do you usually do with your boyfriend? Or, whatdid you do at the start of your relationship? I've been dating a guyfor a around a month, and we seem to spend a lot of time walkingaround a 24h drugstore because that's the only place open at nighthaha. We've went on walks along the beach too, but it's really coldoutside where we live so we really need some new date ideas.
Thanks!
I live in a small town called Perth in Australia, so there isn't really much to do here. I do spend quite a lot of time with my boyfriend, and usually I just hang out at his house to chill. Usually we watch movies, play games together, play the piano or we just talk. We do go out to eat a lot together, maybe once a week. We usually like to go out and eat at restaurants that we both haven't tried before and afterwards maybe spend time around the area of the restaurant. We both like quiet areas so we also like spending time at parks and just relaxing there and just talking and enjoying eachother's company. Unfortunately I can't really give much advice on where to go because my boyfriend and I are quite boring and just usually stay at home instead of going out a lot haha.

Dinara
Hello, Kim! ♥Firstly want to say huge THANKS for your channel. Evety time I am watching your wideos, I feel more and more nspired. I really want to go to Japan one day, too. It has been my aim for 4-5 years already. But I am only 15, so looking forward to my future and hope, I will have a chance to go there.
There are myQs:
1) What inspires you? 2)Tell something about your family and best friend.3) Are you calm person? If 'yes', how can you stay calm?4)What was the reason, when you had been to Japan for the first time& 5)Is it expensive to live there?6)Are there ots of differents between population of Australia and Japan?I will be very glad, if you answer my Qs ^Д^
Hello! I'm sure you will be able to go to Japan in 4-5 years! I didn't go to Japan for the first time until I was 20! With your questions:

1) A lot of things actually! I actually can't think on the top of my head right now but the most random things can really inspire me!

2) Hmm about my family... Originally parents came from Vietnam and came to Australia while trying to flee from the Vietnam war.
Best friend, I've known her ever since I was 10 and we both have similar interests in Japan! She was actually the one that got me into Sailor Moon/anime haha.

3) Sometimes I can be calm, but I'm the type of person where if I don't agree with something, I will voice my opinion. Usually I'm really stubborn and like to get my point across to people lol. When I'm really angry, I calm myself down by ranting haha. Usually I rant by just writing up a blog post, or calling up my boyfriend and ranting to him

4) It has always been my dream to go to Japan ever since I was a teenager, and I had studied Japanese for 2 years already and felt I was ready to go to Japan on my own.

5) Living expenses are much cheaper in Australia, but renting an apartment in Japan isn't really cheap (it's still cheaper than Australia though).

6) Very different! There are heaps more people in Japan than in Australia.

How did you discover your passion for Japan?
At first it was from Japanese anime/dramas but then after travelling to Japan for the first time, I fell in love with the country and the culture. I enjoyed my trip so much that I felt like I never wanted to leave Japan!

When/why did you learn Japanese?
It was mainly from Pokemon and Sailor Moon. I loved playing Pokemon ever since I was 10 and was a hardcore fan haha. I also loved Sailor Moon and watched the whole series in Japanese when I was young (mainly because the English dub sucked and voice actors were annoying). I then started watching more anime and dramas, and always wanted to learn Japanese so I don't need subtitles anymore haha.

I learnt Japanese when I was a second year at university. I wasn't enjoying what I was studying (Science) and really wanted to do something I was interested in.

Do you have any relatives from Japan?
Nope, I do have host families I stay with in Japan but no relatives.

What is your nationality? You look half Asian.
I'm actually full Vietnamese haha.

How often do you go to Japan?
Usually around twice a year now!

What is your profession at the moment?
I don't really want to say for privacy reasons, but I just got a new job which I absolutely love!

Who are your idols?
To be honest, I don't really follow pop culture or anything like that. Whenever someone asks me this question, I honestly have no idea!

What are your top 5 websites that you visit daily or most often?
These days it would probably have to be.. Gmail, Blogger, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr. To be honest I don't really check my Facebook/Twitter as much anymore though.

If you compare yourself five years ago and now, what has changed?
I'm definitely a lot more confident about myself now.  I used to be the shy girl who didn't really say anything, but I realized because of that people were trying to walk on top of me and use me. Because of that I knew that I had to learn how to stand up for myself. I also used to let hate comments get to me back 5 years ago and I used to think about them a lot. These days I just laugh and it doesn't bother me one bit, I definitely have grown really thick skin since then.

What are your biggest strengths and your biggest weaknesses?
For strengths... People have told me that I'm really hard working. If I have a goal I want to achieve, I will do all it takes to achieve it.

Weaknesses... I'm actually super lazy and procrastinate a lot haha. I also think I have a very short attention span. If someone is talking to me for example, about a topic, if I have absolutely no interest in the topic, I probably wouldn't even be listening to a single word that person is saying. I know it sounds bad/mean but it happens :(

Do you have any secrets ;) ?
Hahaha if I do I can't let everyone know! xD

Have you ever been to Switzerland? If yes, when was it - did you like it? If no, would you love to?
Never been before! I really do want to travel all around Europe one day!

Hi, Ijust sub you on youtube and I really like your vidoes. I also really love japan and really wish to go there for a long time like years years ago.
I was wondering what job you are doing or how did you earn the money to travel to japan?
How did you learn japanese? Cause I've been tryin to learn it but I just cant seem to understand, probably because I dont have anyone to teach me correctly or I cant self teach myself. Plus I have a hard time learning their characters or their writing system.
Thankyou so much for letting us ask questions and showing how japan is.
I used to work in a clothing store in Australia so that's how I saved up money to travel to Japan. I am probably really lucky because if you work in retail in Australia, you do get paid really well. I worked a lot of hours and I don't shop in Australia (too expensive here and none of the clothes fit me here haha) so that's how I saved up a lot of money.

I learnt Japanese at a course in university (it was my major). Japanese is super hard to learn by yourself but I'm sure if you google up some sites that teach Japanese and if you practice enough then you might get the hang of it. You will have to practice everyday though so you will remember the writing system.

Hey Kim!! I wanted to ask how you got your bf...LOL as in how do you get the boy that you like to like you? Whenever a guy likes me I just don't feel the same, but for the guys that I do like...it's hard for me to completely show affection (like drop hints) because truthfully I'm afraid of the rejection. Also, how do you transition from that friend stage to something more?
Haha with my boyfriend it was actually really complicated! My boyfriend liked me first and was chasing me for quite a while, but I never noticed cos I was with someone else before him. I actually wasn't happy in my previous relationship and Eric, my current boyfriend was always there for me to listen to all my complaints and always went out of his way to make me happy. It took me ages to realize (maybe 1-2 months haha) that Eric liked me. I broke up with my previous boyfriend because I wasn't happy, and I decided to give Eric a chance (best decision of my life! haha). I'm actually really shy when it comes to boys and I am usually the one that just subtly drops hints (a bit of flirting here and there, always hanging out with him and putting in effort to talk to them a lot). With transitioning, I don't think you have to think much about it, it just happens naturally. With Eric and I, we just started hanging out with eachother more, talking to eachother every night on Skype and then going out to dinner together. I usually wait until the guy confesses to me, I don't think I can ever do it myself! haha.

Anyway I think I talked enough! If you guys want me to do more of these blog posts please let me know and I'll try do them more often!
